Bickmore started her career as a newsreader on the Perth-based radio station, 92.9 FM. She then moved to Melbourne and worked as a newsreader on Nova 100’s Hughesy & Kate show. In 2006, she joined Network Ten as a co-host of the breakfast program, The Circle.
In 2009, Bickmore became a regular presenter on The Project, which was then a half-hour program on Sunday nights. The show proved to be a hit with audiences, and it was eventually expanded to a nightly program in 2011.
