You can see from the photos that Carter had to open the RV’s roof hatch after locking his keys inside.
According to our sources, it’s unclear who called 911, although it was noted that Aaron’s on-again GF Melanie Martin was following him at the time in a white Range Rover.
Aaron wrote about the incident on Instagram, adding “You don’t get in problems when you act morally. Do what is right; that is what you do.”

Throughout his life, Carter courted controversy on numerous occasions, including two drug-related arrests in 2008 and 2017. In 2019, on the Doctors show, Carter claimed that he was manic depressive and had been diagnosed with multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, and severe anxiety. He opened up about his mental health struggle, sharing that he has “multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety” and that he is a “manic depressive.” He also revealed that he is prescribed Xanax, Seroquel, gabapentin, hydroxyzine, trazodone, and omeprazole.
His siblings, Nick and Angel, both filed restraining orders against him that year. Carter said, “I have the most conniving deceiving family and Melanie has been lying to me the whole time communicating with my twin sister and the family members who tried to put me in prison and who tried to get a conservatorship on me in court.”
Aaron’s brother Nick said at that time, “After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today,”. “In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take away every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family.”
Before his death, Aaron underwent treatment for taking care of his only son. Aaron said, “I decided to enroll myself into that program. This will be my fifth time in rehabilitation, mainly to take care of aftercare,” he said on social media. “There’s been no relapses. I haven’t had any relapses … it’s just triggers are big right now for me. You know, so, I just, I want my son back.”
He added, “It’s an abstinence program and I work with an individual counselor. I do group therapy, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, I got myself certified in CPR, just a lot of different things. It’s new being a parent but it’s actually become really fun and exciting and given me a new chapter of my life. It’s been amazing.” Aaron Carter cause of death was not revealed yet.
