Residents count losses as flood ravages Ede community (PHOTOS)

IN July 2019, the Nigeria Metrological Agency had issued a warning that some states in the country should take measures against flood, saying the downpour in the months of August and September would be enormous as a result of climate change.

Though, Osun State was not on the list of states that could be affected, but a rainfall that led to flood destroyed properties along its path.

The flood took a different dimension on Saturday, September 21 when the torrential rains forced an overflow of the Osun river in Ede, Osun state.

A community in Ede, Osun State, known as Okegada, has been thrown into serious agony following the flood that ravaged the area on Saturday, 21st September 2019, destroying properties as a result of a heavy downpour in the area.

The flood was reported to have destroyed properties, goods and other things. Some belongings of the victims were still trapped in the flood.

Though, no life was lost, some Properties and goods, shops were destroyed, but the affected residents are reportedly sulking over their losses.
