14 Cases In Lagelu, 12 In Saki As Oyo Records 76 Covid-19 Cases, Total Now 988

Oyo State, on Monday, recorded 76 fresh cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 988.

The new active cases were revealed in the routine update released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Governor Seyi Makinde.

Makinde said “Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for seventy-six suspected cases came back POSITIVE.

“The cases are from Lagelu (14), Saki West (12), Oyo East (9), Ido (7), Oluyole (6), Ibadan South West (6), Ibadan North (5), Ibadan South East (4), Egbeda (4), Ibadan North East (3), Ibadan North West (2), Akinyele (2), Ona Ara (1) and Afijio (1) Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 988.”

The state also discharged 9 patients from its isolation centre after being tested negative twice.

He said: “Nine confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 290.”

Meanwhile, on the 22nd of June 2020, 675 new confirmed cases and 7 deaths were recorded in Nigerian. Having carried out 115,760 tests, 20919 cases have been confirmed, 7109 cases have been discharged and 525 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 675 new cases are reported from 21 states- Lagos(288), Oyo(76), Rivers(56), Delta(31), Ebonyi(30), Gombe(28), Ondo(20), Kaduna(20), Kwara(20), Ogun(17), FCT(16), Edo(13), Abia(10), Nasarawa(9), Imo(9),Bayelsa(8), Borno(8), Katsina(8), Sokoto(3), Bauchi(3), Plateau(2).
